We are thrilled to announce that Maud's Dog has been invited to write the official song for the Basingstoke leg of the  'Baton of Hope' tour 2025, a project close to our hearts. This incredible journey brings together music and purpose, and we’re honoured to contribute to such a meaningful initiative.

To bring the song to life, we've enlisted the expertise of a talented mixing and mastering engineer, Jordan Humphreys along with a phenomenal bass player, Chris Hardy hailing all the way from South Carolina, USA. This dynamic collaboration promises to create a song that resonates deeply and inspires all who hear it.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there! We’ll be sharing every step of the process - from the spark of creativity to the final mix in our exclusive Subscribers Lounge. Subscribers will get behind-the-scenes access to clips and updates throughout the journey, giving you a front-row seat to the making of something truly special.

"Maud’s Dog are a unique musical entity. Their sound is a fantastic and free-travelling blend of jazz sophistication, theatrical art prog textures, easy listening folk minimalism, and troubadouring poetry."

There’s a weather-beaten patience to the arrangement, like the song itself is pausing to take in the long view. Maud’s Dog aren’t just telling Wilkins’ story—they’re breathing in the same dust and letting it settle into every note.

"Breathing life into vintage folk sounds and lacing that with profound, timeless lyricism, Maud’s Dog is a band for everyone. Pryce’s vocals drift from poignancy to empowerment with ease. Aligning with the pace, tone, and constant rise and fall of their melody, she tackles the personal narrative, reflecting on sorrow, hope, and resilience in one fell swoop."

Maine To LA - the new single

Jackie was inspired to write this after reading The Ride Of Her Life by Elizabeth Letts. It's the true story of  63 year-old farmer Annie Wilkins. In 1954 she lost her farm, had no money and was given two years to live by her doctor. She decided to ride from her hometown of Minot in Maine to California accompanied by her little dog, Depeche Toi.
